Julia is a modern general purpose language. It was conceived to solve the two-language problem within scientific computing: algorithms are often developed in an expressive language such as Python or R, but have to be rewritten to Fortran or C to achieve desired performance.

With Julia you only need one language, because Julia can walk like Python and run like C.

This online course delivered in 4x4 format (four sessions of four hours each) is designed for programmers, scientists, engineers and data-scientists who want to get up to speed on Julia.

The course focusses on teaching good software engineering such as structuring your code into well organized small functions rather than writing large, messy scripts. With better-developed Julia skills you will be able to write high performance code for scientific computing, data science, and machine learning.
